It is now possible to use an intercom even with an open half-type helmet.

Marushin Kogyo, which has been manufacturing helmets for over 60 years since its founding in 1962, exhibited at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show for the first time. The company exhibited popular jet helmets as well as some unique models.

One of the most noteworthy models is the classic MZ-HALF. This is a revival of the Beetle (sold overseas as the MZ-H), a half-type helmet popular in the late 1970s, updated to meet modern safety standards. The helmet features a thick rubber rim and a nostalgic-style short visor as standard, recreating the atmosphere of the time. In addition to basic solid colors, three types of graphics are available, including colors that pay homage to the Beetle of the time. Six vintage visors, including clear, are also available as options, allowing for a variety of combinations. Another noteworthy feature of the MZ-HALF is that it is the first Japanese manufacturer to include ear covers with speaker holders as standard equipment. The speakers are compatible with 45-60mm speakers, allowing for the attachment of most intercoms and Bluetooth speakers. Even with a half-type helmet, you can now communicate with your friends while touring. The price is ¥12,100 for the solid color version and ¥13,750 for the graphics version. One size fits all (57-60cm). In addition, the ear covers with speaker holders are also sold separately (2,640 yen), so they can also be attached to BUBBLERIDER HARF and MP-110, which use the same shaped cap.

The speaker is stored in a mesh pocket, and the cord can be secured with a hook-and-loop fastener.

The shielded model BUBBLE RIDER HALF can also be fitted with ear covers that can be attached to speakers.

Additionally, a women’s size model with a smaller helmet body is available for the popular BUBBLE RIDER jet helmet. This model is one size smaller and provides a better fit for female riders who have previously found the standard free size and M sizes too loose. The M size is 54-55cm, and the L size is 56-57cm, making it smaller than the men’s model. The interior can be removed and washed, and if the size does not fit, it can be replaced with optional parts. The price is 11,000 yen. At this year’s Tokyo Motorcycle Show, a special pastel color version not available in the current production version will be exhibited. If the response is positive, it may be added to the lineup.

The final product will have a range of chic earth tones, but the prototypes are bright pastel colors. If the response is great, they may be commercialized.
