Honda VFR400R (NC30) BITO R&D complete

Based on the third-generation “NC30,” it has the same color scheme as the VFR750R (RC30) released in August 1987. The exhaust system is made of full titanium by JB-POWER.

The front area has been thoroughly reinforced with JB-POWER parts, including the “MAGTAN” made using a magnesium forging process, a 4-piston disc rotor, a special caliper support, and a disc rotor.

The car is fitted with the “MAGTAN Wheel,” which BITO R&D began researching and developing in 1995 and successfully commercialized in 1999. Even lighter than aluminum, it is 67% lighter than aluminum, or roughly two-thirds the weight. The high-strength magnesium block is warm-forged using a massive 8,000-ton hydraulic press.

The front wheel diameter is the same as the standard 17-inch, while the rear wheel diameter has been reduced from the standard 18-inch to 17-inch.

The Honda VFR400R was a model produced from 1986 to 1992, equipped with a water-cooled, 4-stroke, V4, DOHC, 4-valve, 399cc engine. Boasting a maximum horsepower of 59, a self-imposed limit on 400cc models, this bike was a full-fairing, authentic racer replica targeted at users with a medium-sized motorcycle license (commonly known as a chumen, now a regular motorcycle license).

The photo shows a complete machine based on the third-generation “NC30” and dressed up in the same color scheme as the VFR750R (RC30) released in August 1987.

The stock engine has been fully overhauled. Wear parts have been replaced and the moving parts have been balanced to restore it to the same level as when it was new. The carburetor, air funnel, and muffler have been changed to achieve smoother intake and exhaust.

The front and rear wheels are JB-POWER’s forged magnesium wheels, “MAGTAN.” These wheels, created using the magnesium forging process, are ultra-lightweight and extremely rigid. Precise and advanced machining techniques allow for an elegant design, optimal size, and greater freedom in terms of shape.

BITO R&D began researching and developing “MAGTAN” in 1995 and successfully commercialized it in 1999. It is even lighter than aluminum, weighing 67% less than aluminum, or roughly two-thirds lighter. High-strength magnesium blocks are warm-forged in a gigantic 8,000-ton hydraulic press. The rim is warm-rolled and forged using spinning, and then completely machined using high-performance NC machine tools. This is the key point of this wheel, as it is manufactured using cutting-edge technology.

The complete machine in the photo has a 17-inch front wheel, the same size as the stock one. The rear wheel has been downsized from the stock 18-inch to 17-inch. The front tire has been changed from 120/60-17 to 120/70-17, and the rear tire has been changed from 150/60-18 to 170/60-17. The front brake and all components have been reinforced with JP-POWER.
