Harley-Davidson Fat Boy® Gray Ghost
A rare limited edition model that pays homage to the original Fat Boy
Harley-Davidson’s Icon Collection, launched in 2021, is a series of limited-edition models that reinterpret some of the most memorable models from the company’s illustrious history using the latest technology. This fifth installment pays homage to the original Fat Boy®, which debuted in 1990, with a worldwide production limit of 1,990 units (234 units in Japan).
This model, commemorating the 35th anniversary of the Fat Boy, is called “Grey Ghost” and features a mirror-like reflective finish throughout. Of particular note is the thin-film physical vapor deposition (PVD) process applied to the fenders and fuel tank. This is the first time that Harley-Davidson has used PVD technology on such a large part.
This innovative coating technology achieves a beautiful finish that has a brilliant chrome-like appearance but is more corrosion-resistant than conventional chrome plating. The chrome side covers and the frame, finished in bright silver powder coat, further enhance the brilliance of the entire bike.
Nostalgic aesthetics meet modern performance
Styling inspired by the original FAT BOY® model includes a round air cleaner, lower rocker covers with yellow accents, a unique powertrain cover and tank console insert.
Attention to detail, such as the leather seats decorated with lace and tassels and the black leather tank strap edged with lace, further enhances the nostalgic beauty. The three-dimensional fuel tank medallion reproduces the wing graphic that symbolizes the first-generation FAT BOY®. A medallion indicating the Icon Collection is placed on the rear fender, and a unique serial number is engraved on the tank console.
The FAT BOY® is fitted with Lakester aluminum cast wheels, which perfectly combine a classic look with a modern, luxurious feel.
Powered by a 137 horsepower Milwaukee-Eight® 117 engine
The Fat Boy Gray Ghost is equipped with the latest high-performance power unit and technology introduced in the 2025 Fat Boy®. The Milwaukee-Eight® 117 custom powertrain delivers a maximum output of 137 hp (101 kW) and a maximum torque of 165 Nm.
The 2-into-2 exhaust system with individual catalysts uses advanced lightweight materials that reduce high frequencies and emphasize low frequencies, producing a powerful, full-bodied sound.
The new suspension has been thoroughly retuned for optimal ride comfort, with dual bending valve 49mm forks keeping the front wheel firmly planted on the road for a comfortable ride.
Starting with the 2025 model, it is now possible to select riding modes (Road, Rain, Sport), allowing the rider to adjust the bike’s performance characteristics and the level of intervention of the electronic control system according to the situation. In addition to the latest safety equipment, new all-LED lighting has also significantly improved visibility.
Japan premiere at “Blue Sky Heaven” from May 10th
The Fatboy Grey Ghost will be unveiled and exhibited for the first time in Japan at Blue Sky Heaven, one of Japan’s largest lifestyle festivals that combines music, fashion, food, and motorcycles, which will be held from Saturday, May 10th to Sunday, May 11th.
Why not check out the beautiful finish of this iconic collection at the Brusca venue or at authorized dealers nationwide? You don’t want to miss out on this highly rare 35th anniversary model.
