Modern chargers allow you to easily charge your battery without removing it or connecting the dedicated clips to the + (plus) and – (minus) terminals .

a special clip
. Right: A special cord called an “eyelet” is always connected to the battery’s + (plus) and – (minus)
terminals . Simply connect the plug inserted into the eyelet to the plug on the charger, and you can easily charge the battery with just one touch.

This charger uses a 100V household outlet to restore a weakened battery. In the past, the most common method was to remove the battery from the vehicle, connect it to the positive and negative terminals with special clips , and leave it for a while.

Today’s chargers are designed to be permanently connected to a special cord called an “eyelet” without the need to remove the battery. Simply connect the plug on the eyelet to the plug on the charger, and you can easily charge the battery with just one touch.

Founded in 1997, CTEK is a Swedish-based manufacturer of high-performance, high-function battery chargers, boasting sales of over 4 million units worldwide. Under the slogan “Maximizing Battery Performance,” the company distributes battery charging products worldwide. It supplies its products to 42 automobile and motorcycle manufacturers worldwide as OEMs, and its products are recommended for use as battery charging and maintenance tools.

The company’s chargers are sold by various manufacturers and retailers in Japan as authorized dealers. The following two models, which are also compatible with motorcycle batteries, are currently being released by motorcycle parts manufacturer Daytona.

Charging steps: 8 steps

Step 1: Desulfation: This

function activates when sulfation has progressed due to over-discharge. It sends current and voltage pulses to break down the sulfation formed on the lead plates, restoring battery capacity.

Step 2: Soft

start to test if the battery will accept a charge. This step will prevent dangerous charging of a damaged battery.

Step 3: Bulk charge

This is the rapid charging phase. The battery is charged to about 80% capacity at maximum current without putting a strain on the battery. Step 4: Absorption/Osmosis charge The current is gradually reduced while maintaining the specified voltage, carefully completing the charge.

Step 5: Analyze:

Test if the battery can hold a charge. Batteries that cannot hold a charge should be replaced.

Step 6: Reconditioning:

Selecting Reconditioning Mode adds a reconditioning step to the charging process. This step increases the battery voltage, creates a moderate overcharge, and generates controlled amounts of gas within the battery. The gas circulates and agitates the stratified battery fluid, restoring the battery’s charging capacity.

Step 7:

Maintaining the float voltage keeps the battery voltage at its highest level.

Step 8: Pulse Maintenance:

If the battery voltage drops to 12.7V, it will pulse charge until it reaches 14.4V, keeping it at 95-100% charge at all times. As long as it’s plugged in, it will monitor the battery, charging it as needed as it discharges, to keep it fully charged.
