The “tough companion that will expand your horizons” is back in the complete bike series! Scheduled for release in October 2025

The Honda CT125 Hunter Cub, which was released in 2020, is a Class 2 moped leisure model that inherits the functionality and style of the CT110, which has long been affectionately known as the “Hunter Cub.”

The photo shows a miniature model of the “second generation (JA65)” engine, which underwent a minor change in 2022 and is equipped with the JA65E engine (a tenacious long-stroke model that provides 0.3 horsepower more than the JA55E engine of the first generation model. See below for the differences between the first generation and the 2022 model!).

The engine shape, frame shape, and other distinctive silhouettes are faithfully reproduced. The frame is made of die-cast, resulting in a high-quality finished model with a sense of weight and texture.

The engine area of the first model.

2022 model → Bore diameter 50.0mm x stroke length 63.1mm / Maximum output 9.1ps / 6250rpm

The engine area of the 2022 model. The design of the cylinder head, clutch cover, etc. has been changed, and the front bumper has been reinforced with pipes.

[First generation model]

Engine type: JA55E

Engine type: Air-cooled 4-stroke SOHC 2-valve single cylinder

Displacement: 124cc

Bore diameter x stroke length: 52.4mm x 57.9mm

Compression ratio: 9.3

Maximum power: 8.8ps/7,000rpm

Maximum torque: 11N・m/4,500rpm

Fuel consumption: 61.0km/L (60km/h steady state fuel consumption value) / 67.2km/L (WMTC mode value)

[2022 Model]

Engine type: JA65E

Engine type: Air-cooled 4-stroke SOHC 2-valve single cylinder

Displacement: 123cc

Bore diameter x stroke length: 50.0mm x 63.1mm

Compression ratio: 10.0

Maximum power: 9.1ps/6,250rpm

Maximum torque: 11N・m/4,750rpm

Fuel consumption: 63.0km/L (60km/h constant speed) / 63.7km/L (WMTC mode)

The 2022 model engine, which meets the new exhaust gas regulations, has been changed to a long-stroke type with a bore diameter of 50.0 mm and a stroke length of 63.1 mm, which is also used in the Monkey 125 and Dax 125. The design of each part, such as the cylinder head and covers, has also been changed.

The 2022 model’s engine has an increased compression ratio, while delivering 0.3 horsepower more maximum power at 750 rpm lower. Maximum torque is 11 Nm at 250 rpm higher, the same as the first-generation model. You can expect a tenacious, easy-to-drive ride in the city that only a long-stroke engine can provide.

The transmission and clutch remain the same, a 4-speed automatic centrifugal type, and the transmission gear ratio remains the same. The primary and secondary reduction ratios have been revised to be slightly longer. The fuel economy of the 2022 model is down 3.5km/L in WMTC mode. It will be interesting to see how much of a difference there will be in actual fuel economy.

Suspension/Exterior

The first generation Honda CT Hunter Cub was priced at 440,000 yen (tax included) at the time of release.

2022 model: Overall length 1965mm/wheelbase 1260mm/weight 118kg

The 2022 Honda CT Hunter Cub will be priced at 440,000 yen (tax included), the same as the first-generation model.

Due to changes to the final drive (secondary reduction ratio) and rear shock, the overall length and wheelbase (wheel base) of the 2022 model have been extended by 5 mm. The vehicle weight has also been reduced by 2 kg, improving maneuverability.

The rear suspension now features a preload adjuster that allows for five-stage adjustment of the spring initial load. The front bumper, which protects the engine area in the event of a fall, has been reinforced with pipes to improve its strength.

The 2022 model gets a makeover by changing the “HONDA” logo on the main frame cover to a black outline. The color lineup includes a new “Matte Armored Silver Metallic” color, which evokes the image of a tough outdoor item, along with the existing colors “Glowing Red” and “Pearl Organic Green.” The rear carrier of the Glowing Red model has also been changed from the same red to black.

New color: Matte Armored Silver Metallic.

The color continues to be glowing red. The rear carrier has been changed from the same red to black.
