Rainbow Products Japan (Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture), the makers of Rainbow Beach Cruisers and Bronx Cycles, has announced the long-awaited latest addition to their hugely popular electrically assisted Bronx Buggy series: the Bronx Buggy Throttle, a model that meets the specific small moped standard. While it fits within the specific small moped category, it boasts a full-size body that is just at the limit of the standard, making it a powerful presence on the streets.
Powerful 500W motor and large-capacity battery for a 50km range
The heart of the Bronx Buggy Throttle is a powerful 500W motor that exceeds its class. This is combined with a large 14Ah lithium-ion battery, giving it a maximum range of 50km on a full charge. It’s a spec that can handle not only short trips around town but also short long rides.
As a designated small moped, no license is required for those aged 16 or over (registration and automobile liability insurance are required), and wearing a helmet is mandatory. The prices are 178,000 yen (excluding tax) for the Matte Black and Coyote models, and 188,000 yen (excluding tax) for the Forest Green and Gloss Black models with polished wheels.
