Two years since the launch of the new special moped, Acalie has finally released this model
Acalie Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Nagoya), a leader in the electric mobility market, has announced the company’s flagship mobility product, the “EVEREST XING CITY Series.” It will be officially released as the culmination of the series on July 1, 2025, two years after the establishment of the “specified small motorized bicycle” (specified moped) classification. The launch is scheduled for August 1, and two models will be available: the “EVEREST XING CITY” moped model and the “EVEREST XING CITY Plus” electric assist bicycle model.

Acalie, which boasts a track record of cumulative domestic sales of over 30,000 units (including 26,000 specified mopeds), has created the EVEREST XING CITY series, which is a product of ideas from users across the country. Based on the concept of a standard means of transportation in the near future, it was completed after more than a year and a half of development. It is the culmination of Acalie’s electric mobility products, which make travel more comfortable and enrich everyday life.
EVEREST XING CITY shows the pinnacle of specific mopeds
The EVEREST XING CITY moped was developed with the aim of creating a futuristic mobility system that anyone can easily ride. Its body employs a bicycle-style frame that fits Japanese riders, and its 20-inch tires provide a low center of gravity and stable riding performance. Its high-power motor, rated at 500W and with a maximum output of 1,100W, boasts Japan’s highest level of hill-climbing ability (51% gradient), demonstrating a level of power that is on a different level from conventional electric kick scooters. Its cruising range is approximately 60km, and the battery is removable for added convenience. It’s also IPX6 waterproof, so you can use it with confidence even on rainy days. CITY Plus is an electric assist bicycle that fits into your life
The CITY Plus is more than just an electrically assisted bicycle; it was created with the aim of being a mobility device that can accompany you through every stage of life. From commuting to school for high school students, to taking children to and from school, to relaxing after the child-rearing years are over, its uses are diverse and varied to suit different stages of life. Its robust design allows it to accommodate a rear carrier or child seat, and it combines powerful assist performance with reliable specs, including a cruising range of 100km. The three colors available, common to the series: WIND BLUE, SLATE BLACK, and PEAK SILVER, exude a sense of quality.
Acalie’s vision for the future is also being adopted for sharing services
The EVEREST XING CITY series will also be used as a vehicle for Acalie’s shared mobility service “enjoy,” and is expected to be seen more frequently around town. As electric mobility becomes more prevalent as a daily means of transportation, this series will be Acalie’s most important model, embodying its vision of “making transportation more enjoyable and fulfilling.”
The specified CITY moped is priced at 198,000 yen (tax included), while the CITY Plus is priced at 176,000 to 198,000 yen (tax included) depending on the intended use. Both are equipped with a powerful 48V 13.2Ah battery, which can be easily charged in about six hours using a household outlet. Kanda Ippei, the person in charge, proudly states, “We thoroughly pursued what users wanted, and were particular about robustness, waterproofing, driving stability, comfort, and overwhelming climbing ability.”
