Announcement of a 2026 model update
On July 5, 2025, BMW Motorrad announced a major overhaul of its model lineup for the 2026 model year. Specifications will be revised and updated across almost all categories, including Roadster, Tourer, Adventure, Modern Classic, and Urban Mobility, in order to pursue even higher driving performance, comfort, and functionality.
All vehicles improved, focusing on chassis performance and electronic control
BMW Motorrad’s concept for the 2026 model year is “a fusion of high-level dynamics and refinement.” Many models will receive updates to their electronic control systems, with further advances being made to the control logic of ABS Pro and DTC (Dynamic Traction Control). In addition, the algorithms for Dynamic ESA (Electronically Adjustable Suspension) and cornering lights have also been optimized, resulting in a more natural and smooth riding feel.
In addition, touring models such as the K1600GT/GTL/B, R18 series, and R1250RT will feature updated electronic control systems as well as further improvements in sound, enhancing the riding experience itself.
Pursuing a high-quality feel through refined design and equipment
In terms of visuals, most of the flagship models have adopted new color variations and exclusive graphics. In particular, the S1000RR has been given a new design based on Black Storm Metallic, further enhancing its racing impression. The R1250GS Adventure now comes with the “Option 719” specification featuring an aluminum tank, giving it a unique presence.
The comfort features have also been significantly revised, with many detailed updates made with touring in mind, such as changes to the seat structure, heater temperature distribution, and windscreen shape, which further reduce fatigue during long-distance riding and improve wind protection.
Also updated for the urban EV model “CE 04”
BMW’s urban electric scooter, the CE 04, is also included in this model year’s improvements. The adoption of a new smart case with an electric unlocking function enhances storage capacity and convenience. The dashboard UI has also become more intuitive, and the response time for smartphone navigation has been improved. The user interface when connecting to apps has also been refined, making city riding more comfortable.
In addition, a large variable screen and additional LED lighting have been newly added as optional equipment, allowing for a wider range of customization options. There are many upgrades available to make urban riding safer and more enjoyable.

Deliveries of the new 2026 model year vehicles will begin in Europe, with sales slated to begin in the Japanese market around autumn 2025.
