Major changes to the new KLX230SM

Two new colors available

The 2025 model will be available in two colors: “Neon Green x Ebony” and “Battle Gray x Ebony.” In addition to the traditional Kawasaki-style green, a new Battle Gray color with a more urban feel has been added. Both colors have a sporty finish with ebony accents.

Compatible with smartphone apps

The biggest change this time is that it now supports the voice command and navigation functions of Kawasaki’s dedicated app, “RIDEOLOGY THE APP MOTORCYCLE.” New car buyers will be provided with a one-year free license upon delivery. To continue using the app after one year, a paid license must be purchased.

Basic Performance and Appeal of the KLX230SM

Light and nimble running with a 232cc single-cylinder engine

The KLX230SM is equipped with a 232cc air-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine. It features road tires mounted on 17-inch wheels and a lightweight, slim body that makes it easy to handle. The exhaust note is pleasant, making it a fun bike to ride around town.

Highly rigid frame and optimized suspension

The frame uses a perimeter-structure steel pipe semi-double cradle. The structure that connects the steering head to the swingarm pivot in a straight line achieves excellent body rigidity. The front is equipped with an inverted fork with a 37mm inner tube diameter, providing a high sense of rigidity.

Position setting for ease of use

The rear subframe and suspension settings have been optimized, and the seat has been made thicker while the seat height has been reduced. In addition to the settings of caster angle and trail, the handlebar and footpeg positions have also been considered to achieve both excellent handling and ease of use.

Supermoto-style city riding performance

The KLX230SM is a supermoto model based on the off-road-based KLX230. While retaining its wild appearance and off-road feel, the combination of 17-inch wheels and road tires enhances its riding performance in the city. The agility and fun handling that are unique to a supermoto will turn your everyday commute into a special experience.

Price and Availability

The 2025 model of the KLX230SM will go on sale at Kawasaki authorized dealers on September 15th. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price has been set at 638,000 yen (base price 580,000 yen, consumption tax 58,000 yen). ABS is standard equipment, and the price also includes motorcycle recycling costs. This model will be produced for the Japanese market at Kawasaki’s overseas factory, PT. Kawasaki Motor Indonesia (KMI).
