The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology selected MotoGP rider Ai Ogura as a “Person of Merit in Sports,” which is given to athletes who have achieved outstanding results in world-class sporting competitions and people who have contributed to the improvement and development of sports over many years. At the awards ceremony, she received the award directly from Koji Murofushi, Commissioner of the Japan Sports Agency, in recognition of her achievements in contributing to the development of the motorsports world.
