A renovation that stands out in the city

Honda has announced in Europe that it will add a new color, “Iridium Gray Metallic,” to its touring model NT1100/NT1100 DCT Electronic Suspension (2026 model). The 2025 major update completely updated the technology and equipment, so the 2026 update is merely a cosmetic refresh.

This new color will be added to the entry model (manual transmission) and DCT + electronically controlled suspension model, and will join the existing “Mat Warm Ash Metallic” and “Pearl Hawkseye Blue” to provide a wider range of visual options.

Keep existing improvements intact

The enhanced specifications implemented for the 2025 model will be carried over to the 2026 model. The engine remains a 1,084cc parallel twin-cylinder, with an output of 102 PS and a maximum torque of 112 Nm. The suspension correction, body balance, and electronic control system will continue to use a 6-axis IMU as the core.

The DCT + electronically controlled suspension model features Showa’s EERA (Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment) control, which controls the dampers in real time and maintains the ability to optimize damping characteristics in just 15 milliseconds. Also, the previous model continues to feature equipment such as a one-touch adjustable screen and LED headlights and integrated DRL turn signals.

The meaning and aim of introducing new colors

The color update is a typical evolutionary strategy that gives a fresh look to a model whose technical updates have reached a plateau. While 2026 is not the year for adding new mechanisms, the decision was made with the aim of making a visual impact that will appeal to buyers. By making the new color standard even for entry-level models, it is highly likely that the company is also aiming to expand its user base.

This strategy is also linked to the method of extending the release cycle by modifying the appearance even if the performance and equipment are already in a perfect state. This also serves as an opportunity to continue attracting attention after the release.

Japan expansion and future highlights

At this time, it is unclear whether the 2026 NT1100, including this new color, will be available in the Japanese market. Following the announcement of the model mainly in Europe, we await its introduction in Japan.

However, it is worth noting that Honda is emphasizing its position as the “best-selling tourer” in Europe. The introduction of new colors is likely to be a stepping stone to further strengthening that brand image. From the user’s perspective, the increased individuality of the model is a welcome development, and expectations are high for future sales developments and pricing.
