A new generation roadster that inherits the legendary lineage
The CB1000F, which Honda will launch in Europe as a 2026 model, is a new large naked sports bike that pays homage to the legendary CB750F from the 1980s. Drawing on the 65-year history of the CB series, the bike is based on the CB1000 Hornet but has established its own unique character. The development concept was the “best balanced roadster,” combining the nimble maneuverability of a middleweight with the power of a liter bike. The body, composed of elegant lines, forms a continuous form from the fuel tank to the tail cowl, and the round headlight and double horns recreate the spirit of the 1980s in the modern era.
Retuned heart inherited from Fireblade
At its heart is a thoroughly retuned, water-cooled, inline-four-cylinder DOHC engine derived from the CBR1000RR Fireblade. It produces a maximum output of 91kW at 9000 rpm and a maximum torque of 103Nm at 8000 rpm. The intake duct length has been extended, and the cam timing and intake diameter have been revised to enhance torque and a pulsating feel at low and mid-range speeds. The 4-2-1 exhaust system and three-chamber megaphone muffler emit a sound quality reminiscent of the classic CB. The transmission employs low gears in first and second gears for sharper acceleration from a standing start, while third and higher gears are geared higher to reduce cruising speeds. At 100km/h, the bike boasts ample power at just 4000rpm. Fuel economy is excellent at 5.6L/100km, and the 16L tank ensures a range of over 280km.
High-quality electronic control and equipment controlled by a 6-axis IMU
The CB1000F employs the latest electronic controls, centered around a 6-axis IMU. In addition to three throttle-by-wire riding modes (SPORT/STANDARD/RAIN), two user settings can be saved. Engine brake, torque control (HSTC), and wheelie control can be adjusted in stages to achieve optimal control according to the situation. The 5-inch TFT full-color LCD meter offers excellent visibility, and can be linked with the Honda RoadSync app to enable navigation and music control. It is equipped with a range of features that combine safety and convenience, including keyless starting with the Honda Smart Key and an ESS function that notifies other vehicles of emergency braking.
Chassis and suspension create a balanced ride
The frame features a steel diamond structure and a long subframe specifically designed for the CB1000F, improving passenger comfort. The 41mm diameter Showa SFF-BP inverted forks and a newly designed Pro-Link rear shock are fully adjustable, providing a premium ride from city riding to winding roads. Braking is provided by Nissin four-piston radial calipers paired with 310mm floating dual discs, and IMU-controlled cornering ABS ensures stable braking. The tires are 120/70ZR17 in the front and 180/55ZR17 in the rear, and the wheels are lightweight 5Y-spoke, inheriting the design philosophy of the CBR1000RR-R. The seat height of 795mm, wheelbase of 1455mm, and curb weight of 214kg confirm the excellent balance.
The CB1000F is available in three colors: Graffiti Black, Wolf Silver Metallic with Blue Stripe, and Wolf Silver Metallic with Gray Stripe. High-performance yet easy to handle, this machine reconstructs the spirit of the classic CB with modern technology, and is not just a nostalgic bike, but a machine that connects Honda’s traditions to the next generation as “the best modern roadster.”
