Suzuki Gixxer 250…481,800 yen

Suzuki’s naked sports bike, the Gixxer 250, will be released on March 21, 2025.
The latest change is a complete redesign of the color scheme. Three new body colors have been added to suit a wider range of rider styles. Three colors are available: Triton Blue Metallic/Pearl Glacier White (AGQ), Matte Bordeaux Red Metallic/Matte Black Metallic No. 2 (CUU), and Matte Black Metallic No. 2 (YKV), creating a color variation that combines sportiness and boldness.
The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is 481,800 yen (including tax). As a Suzuki 250cc class naked model, it is priced at an excellent value for money. This bike is versatile enough to be used for everything from street riding to touring, and is likely to be popular with a wide range of riders, from entry-level riders to veterans.
Stylish design and nimble handling

The design of the Gixxer 250 shares a common concept with Suzuki’s sports bike series, resulting in a simple yet powerful styling. The cowl is compactly condensed towards the center of the body, giving it a form that suggests a light and nimble ride.
The integrated design that flows from the headlamp to the tank creates a bold front face. The compact and thin LED headlamp emphasizes a sharp impression and also improves visibility at night. The rear also gives a sporty and compact impression with the grab bar integrated with the cowl and the swingarm-mounted rear fender.
The front and rear split seat provides the optimum position for both the rider and pillion rider, ensuring a comfortable ride even during long rides, while achieving the simple, sleek design typical of naked sports bikes.
Suzuki’s unique oil-cooled engine delivers powerful performance

At the heart of the Gixxer 250 is a 249cc single-cylinder SOHC 4-valve engine that uses Suzuki’s unique oil-cooling technology, “SOCS (Suzuki Oil Cooling System).” The cooling system circulates oil around the periphery of the combustion chamber, improving cooling performance compared to conventional air-cooled engines and achieving both high power and durability.
It delivers a maximum output of 19kW (9,300rpm) and a maximum torque of 22Nm (7,300rpm). It generates powerful torque from low speeds, making it both easy to handle in urban areas and an exhilarating ride on winding roads. It also boasts excellent fuel economy, recording a constant fuel economy of 44.5km/L as reported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. It is economical even on long-distance touring, and is designed to reduce the burden on the rider.
The Suzuki Easy Start System also allows the engine to be started with just one push of a button, making it stress-free to operate even in cold weather or other situations where frequent engine starts are required.

The bike is also packed with features to improve rider convenience and safety. The highly visible full-digital LCD meter is equipped with an RPM indicator that notifies the rider of the optimum timing for shifting by lighting or flashing a lamp. It also has functions that allow the rider to quickly check the information they need, such as a gear position indicator, odometer, twin trip meters, clock, and oil change indicator.
The suspension features a 41mm inner tube diameter fork in the front and a 7-stage preload adjustment function in the rear. This allows for settings that suit the rider’s physique and riding situation. The braking system is equipped with 300mm disc brakes in the front and 220mm disc brakes in the rear, and ABS is standard equipment to ensure stability during braking. In addition, 110mm front and 150mm rear radial tires are used, achieving high grip performance.
The Gixxer 250 is a naked sports bike that can be used in a variety of situations, from city rides and winding roads to long touring, and it offers a good balance of styling, riding performance, and equipment. With an excellent price and cost performance, it will be an attractive choice for many riders.
